What was your first Cosplay experience?
When I was in High School, I dressed up as Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist for both Halloween and my Anime Club’s float in the homecoming parade. Since we didn’t have many resources to make an elaborate float, Cosplay was encouraged to make ours stand out!

How long have you been Cosplaying?
I made my first cosplay in 2004, and attended my first convention in 2007 (which is when I got super hooked)!

Who or what inspired you to take up Cosplaying?
Li Kovacs/Pikminlink was a big inspiration. I’m a huge fan of her Link costumes, which I found online around the time I was learning about cosplay.

If you had to pick a favorite Cosplay you have worn, or have seen someone else wear, what would it be?
My Yusei Fudo costume is one I’m particularly happy with because it’s held up pretty well despite how much I’ve worn it, and it also just looks cool while still being comfortable to wear. There are too many favorite costumes I’ve seen other cosplayers wear to narrow it down to just a few!

If you had unlimited funds and resources, what Cosplay would you create?
Twilight Princess Link, which is a dream costume I’ve wanted to make for a decade now. I’ll be doing some more work on it soon!

What advice would you offer to those who are aspiring Cosplayers?
Cosplay is what you make of it. There’s no right or wrong way to do it, and you shouldn’t let people tell you what you should or shouldn’t do. Don’t limit yourself to certain characters because of appearances, and don’t let anything someone says put you down. Be good to yourself and the community, and have fun!
