Margot Robbie In Talks For WB’s ‘Barbie’ Movie – Patty Jenkins Circling To Direct

A new report from THR has revealed that Sony Pictures will no longer be handling the Barbie movie which previously had Amy Schumer and Anne Hathaway set to star at various points as the live-action version of the iconic doll.

The new incarnation instead has landed at Warner Bros. and the studio isn’t wasting anytime trying to lineup talent for it. THR has learned that Aussie actress Margot Robbie (I, Tonya, Wolf of Wall Street, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood) in currently in talks with WB for the titular role.

They also add that Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins is reportedly circling the project but an offer has yet to be made.

Sources say that Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins is circling the Warners project but indicate there are no substantive talks that have taken place.

Jenkins is currently working on Wonder Woman 1984 as Robbie is gearing up for a mid-January production start on Birds of Prey in Los Angeles.

A release date for Barbie has yet to be announced by the studio.
