The February Marvel Collector Corps box has arrived and this months theme, in time for the new film, is Deadpool!
Marvel Collector Corps is a bi-monthly subscription box from Marvel and Funko guaranteed to feature 100% exclusive items. The Box is about $25 plus shipping and promises $50 in value in return.
- Mopeez Deadpool (Inverse) Plush
- X-Force Deadpool Shirt
- Deadpool #1 – Collector Corps Variant Cover
- Funko POP #123 – Deadpool (Leaping)
- Deadpool (Cowboy) Dorbz Vinyl Figure
This month’s box featured everyone’s favorite Merc with A Mouth. His face is literally on every item. We have had Collector Corp boxes dedicated to a single character before, but even Ant-Man’s box featured an item or two featuring Yellowjacket. I’m not complaining though because DP deserves it, especially after it took 10+ years to finally make a proper film. No thanks to that atrocity that is X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
This is the first Collector Corp box to feature a Mopeez Plush doll. This also my first Mopeez as well. I’m seeing these guys everywhere, almost as much as their Pop Vinyl counterparts. They kind of remind me of beanie babies, but cooler. This one is of Deadpool’s Black (Inverse?) suit, which I think looks much better.
The Deadpool shirt is amazing. I hear there are three different variants of the shirt, Regular Red/Black Deadpool, X-Men Deadpool and the one I received, which features X-Force Deadpool. These are the only variants I have seen so far, so if there are more feel free to leave a picture of yours in the comments below. I’d love to see it.
As soon as I heard February’s box was going to be catered to Deadpool, my initial and sarcastic reaction was “Great, another Deadpool Pop.” I mean, come on, how many different version’s of POPs do we need for Wade? Does this one make it the 20th now? Once I received it, my tone changed. This version features Deadpool leaping in the air, ready for battle. It also comes with a see-through stand as well. This one is definitely one of my favorite Pops of his. I think #1 in my book, is still the Chimichanga Truck.
The Dorbz figure included is of Cowboy Deadpool which I found adorable (Ha! Get it?). This Dorbz figure is wearing a cowboy hat, winking and carrying a stick horse.
The last two items included, were the standard patch and pin that come in every Collector Corp box. Again, this month’s featured Wade’s face on both. I really like the artwork on both of these.
If you are a fan of Deadpool, this month’s crate really knocks it out of the park and if you haven’t seen the film yet, you are missing out! Let us know your thoughts on this month’s box in the comments below.
Also, don’t forget to check out our review of the film, here.
April’s crate has been announced and the theme is Civil War. During New York Toy Fair last weekend, we got a peak at the figures for every character featured in the film with the exception of Spider-Man, so I can only hope that April’s Collector Corp will featuring our first look at him from the film.
