The date for the brand-new 22-minute animated special ‘Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts’ was revealed today. The special will premiere on Wednesday, January 16 at 4pm PT/7pm ET on the Marvel HQ Youtube channel.
Also, there’s another surprise in store. Tyler Posey, Booboo Stewart, Kathreen Khavari, Kamil McFadden, and Roger Craig Smith will be live-chatting with fans for the premiere!
The premise for the special is as follows:
“‘Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts’ features the return of Dove Cameron (‘Descendants 3’) and Booboo Stewart (‘Descendants 3’) in the brand-new special that follows fan-favorite Ghost-Spider teaming-up with the Secret Warriors to bring down the villains Sheath and Exile for good. Can team leader Quake (Chloe Bennet of ‘Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’) convince Ghost-Spider to join the team for good?”
Furthermore, Dove Cameron had this to say on the project:
“I am so excited to return to the world of ‘Marvel Rising’ as Ghost-Spider! It’s so rewarding to be part of a project that resonates with girls, and speaks to topics and subject matters we can all relate to.”
Next up, ‘Marvel Rising: Heart of Iron,’ the next installment in the Marvel Rising universe. This special will introduce Riri Williams a.k.a. Ironheart. Additionally, Riri will be voiced by Sofia Wylie (“Andi Mack”).
The premise for the 44-minute special:
“We find Riri Williams adjusting to college life and feeling socially isolated because she is younger than the other students. After Hala the Accuser destroys the school’s engineering lab and kidnaps Riri’s best friend, Riri finds inspiration in her hero Iron Man and hatches a plan to defeat Hala and save the day.”
However, ‘Heart of Iron’ is currently undated.
Moreover, ‘Marvel Rising: Chasing Ghosts’ was written by Mairghread Scott. Alfred Gimeno served as supervising animation producer and director.
