Milla Jovovich’s ‘Monster Hunter’ Adds Tony Jaa As The Film’s Male Lead

Sep 26, 2018

THR has yet another casting addition to Paul W.S. Anderson’s Monster Hunter, which is based on the Capcom video game. Milla Jovovich is the lead playing a character named Artemis and the newest actor added is Thai martial arts star Tony Jaa. He’s said to be playing the film’s male lead.

Jaa is ostensibly the movie’s male lead, a man simply called The Hunter.

Tony joins recent new additions Ron Perlman (Blade II, Pacific Rim, Alien: Resurrection, Hellboy) and T.I. Harris (American Gangster, Ant-Man). His recent Hollywood action credits include Fast and Furious 7 and xXx: The Return of Xander Cage.

Filming will take place in Cape Town, South Africa starting next month and will wrap on December 12th.

Screen Gems has yet to set the film’s release date.
