Norman Reedus (Walking Dead, Boondock Saints, Triple 9) was speaking with Uproxx talking about his upcoming AMC series Ride along with the Walking Dead, revealing an interest to take over the Ghost Rider role from Nicholas Cage in a potential reboot.
Would he be down to play Ghost Rider if Marvel came calling?
“Hell yeah,” he says, acknowledging that he also liked Nic Cage’s version. “It would be a blast. Do I get a skull face that’s on fire and all that stuff? Fuck yeah. I’m down.”
Norman is no stranger to comic book material, as Walking Dead of course is a series based on the popular comic by Brian Kirkman. He also had a supporting role in Guillermo del Toro’s Blade II for New Line, making him already apart of the Marvel family.
It also doesn’t hurt the actor is actually a motorcycle enthusiast.
Heroic Hollywood had reported over a year ago that Marvel Television’s rumored Phase Two plans could included The Punisher, Blade and Ghost Rider. We know since then that one of the those projects has come together and will be released.
Reedus’ Walking Dead co-star Jon Bernthal landed himself the Frank Castle role in Daredevil season two, which led to his own Punisher series that was recently green lit by Marvel Television.
This isn’t the only time he’s worked with actors with Marvel roles, in Triple 9 saw Norman opposite Doctor Strange‘s Chiwetel Ejiofor and Civil War‘s Anthony Mackie.
