Our Report That WB’s ‘Birds of Prey’ Will Shoot In California Confirmed

Jul 23, 2018

On July 6th, Omega Underground first reported that producer/star Margot Robbie, director Cathy Yan, and Warner Bros. were looking to film their Birds of Prey movie in Los Angeles, California.

A couple of days ago we reaffirmed the California shooting location adding that filming was set to begin on January 15th.

Today, THR is backing up our report and revealing that Birds of Prey has been officially granted California state tax credits.

Birds of Prey, Warner Bros.’ upcoming Harley Quinn movie starring Margot Robbie, is among 19 films that that have been selected to received tax credits under California’s Film & TV Tax Credit Program 2.0.

Birds of Prey itself is projected to spend nearly $63 million in-state on qualified expenditures. Such projects with total budgets exceeding $75 million were ineligible for the state’s first-generation incentive program.

Our previous reporting that Huntress and Black Canary would debut in the film was also recently confirmed by TheWrap.

Birds of Prey is currently without a release date.
