Peter Sollett’s ‘Minecraft’ Live-Action Feature Film Enlists Writer Allison Schroeder (‘Christopher Robin’)

The upcoming live-action adaptation of ‘Minecraft’ has enlisted screenwriter Allison Schroeder. The previous draft is from Peter Sollett (‘Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist,’ ‘The Path’), who is still onboard as director.

Schroder recently co-wrote Disney’s ‘Christopher Robin,’ from director Marc Forster. She also co-wrote Theodore Melfi’s ‘Hidden Figures,’ which won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. Next, she has Disney Animation’s ‘Frozen II,’ releasing November 22nd.

“The story of a teenage girl and her unlikely group of adventurers. After the malevolent Ender Dragon sets out on a path of destruction, they must save their beautiful, blocky Overworld.”

Warner Bros. will release the film on March 4, 2022.
