Today, Deadline announced that Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales star Brenton Thwaites (Gods of Egypt, The Giver) has been cast in the role of Dick Grayson aka Nightwing is DC Comic’s upcoming Titans TV Series. This would be the first live-action incarnation of Nightwing. However, Chris O’Donnell played the character of Dick Grayson in the 90’s films Batman Forever and Batman & Robin.
DC Comics CCO Geoff Johns added:
“Dick Grayson is one of the most important and iconic heroes in the DC universe, and it wasn’t easy to find him but we have. Brenton has the emotional depth, heart, danger and physical presence of Batman’s former protegé and the Titans’ future leader. We’re extremely lucky he’s chosen to bring his talents to this project and this character.”
Thwaites joins Anna Diop who was cast last week as Starfire. And Teagan Croft who was cast several weeks ago as Raven. The only member of the team who has yet to be cast is for Beast Boy.
Titans will stream exclusively on DC Digital in 2018
