Producers Hint Jared Leto’s ‘Morbius’ Could Begin Filming Around February

Oct 9, 2018

Venom producers have given some indication when they plan on beginning production on Jared Leto’s Morbius movie, which is based on the Spider-Man villain turned horror genre superhero.

While neither Avi Arad or Matt Tomlach give specific dates during the brief comment to Collider. It does sound like they won’t be ready for a fall shoot which had been previously reported.

Do you know when you start filming?

ARAD: More or less, February?

TOLMACH: Yeah, the plan is early part of next year. We’re still working on it.

The duo certainly have some bragging rights after Venom earned an impressive $80 million domestically over the weekend, and a total of $205 million globally. It will likely end up earning the studio some hefty profits by the end of it’s run.

Casting seems to be the next big step for the comic book film as they’re already well into pre-production.

A release date still has yet to be slated for Morbius by Sony Pictures.
