‘Prometheus’ and ‘Game of Thrones’ Actor Ian Whyte Plays Moroff In ‘Rogue One’

Dec 5, 2016

Rogue One is about to be released in theatres, but we’re still learning casting from the film.

A creature shop video has been released by Lucasfilm and we’ve spotted that English/Welsh actor Ian Whyte will be playing the white haired Gigoran mercenary named Moroff. As far as we know this casting hasn’t been announced and it’s been left-off Whyte’s IMDB page, which isn’t surprising due to studio secrecy.

Moroff is a mercenary. He seeks out combat zones to sell his brawn and firepower to anyone who might need it. In Rogue One, he decides that he can make money as a towering heavy gunner. Though, he soon gets swept up in the Rebel Alliance.

You might know Whyte off-the-bat, but he’s been in a lot of projects including Game of Thrones as the giant Wun Wun, the last engineer in Prometheus, along with the main predators in the two AVP films.

I’d also be willing to bet Ian was playing one of the rather tall Death Troopers as well.

Rogue One is out on December 16th
