At long last, Lionsgate has given the fifth installment in the 37-year-old ‘Rambo’ franchise has a release date: September 20, 2019.

The premise of the (hopefully) final film is below:

“When the daughter of one of his friends is kidnapped, Rambo (Stallone) — who has been working on a ranch — crosses the U.S.-Mexico border and quickly finds himself up against the full might of one of Mexico’s most violent cartels.”

Moreover, Adrian Grunberg (‘Get the Gringo’) took over directing duties. But, Stallone still wrote the screenplay, with Matthew Cirulnick (‘Absentia.’) Cirulnik is also the writer of the upcoming Stallone vehicle ‘The Good Samaritan.’

Additionally, Sergio Peris-Mencheta plays the villian, while Paz Vega and Yvette Monreal also join the film.

‘Rambo V: Last Blood’ will compete against Sony’s ‘Black and Blue’ and the Focus Features movie continuation ‘Downton Abbey.’
