Robert Downey Jr. Rebooting ‘Doctor Dolittle’ at Universal Studios

Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Universal Studios have acquired the film rights to the Doctor Dolittle series. Made famous by the 1967 musical film and then again by Eddie Murphy in the early 2000’s. Iron Man himself Robert Downy Jr. is set to star in the film titled The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle. Something that didn’t come cheap for Universal. Gold director Stephen Gaghan is set to write and direct the picture. Tom Shepherd wrote an earlier draft of the script. Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum will produce for their Roth/Kirschenbaum Films alongside Susan Downey for Team Downey.

The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle has no set release date
