It’s been a while since we saw Dick Grayson don the Robin mantle. We all knew the original earned the Boy Wonder title for a reason, but who knew how nice it’d be to see him as Robin again? Here’s what GWW’s writers thought about the big books from this week:
Robin & Batman #1
DC Comics
WRITTEN BY: JEFF LEMIRE
ART AND COLORS BY: DUSTIN NGUYEN
LETTERS BY: STEVE WANDS
What is Batman without Robin? What is Robin without Batman? Questions that maybe don’t need answering. If they do need answered, then DC Comics Robin and Batman 1 is the preface. Written by award winning comic team Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen. Robin & Batman #1 tells the story of the early days of the dynamic duo. What they were before, and during their heralded time as ward and guardian. Robin & Batman #1 is an emotional and grounded look at Dick Grayson and Bruce Wayne, and it’s is a great first issue and one of the best Batman comics of 2021. — Emmetdavis7 … CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL REVIEW

WE HAVE DEMONS #2
ComiXology
WRITTEN BY: SCOTT SNYDER
PENCILS BY: GREG CAPULLO
INKS BY: JONATHAN GLAPION
COLORS BY: DAVE MCCAIG
LETTERS BY: TOM NAPOLITANO
After getting to know Lam in the series opener, We Have Demons #2 takes a greater look at Gus. That does slow things down a bit through the early portion of the book a bit, but that doesn’t last. The story goes 0 to 60 in the latter half of the book — then there’s the ending. Nothing could’ve prepared anyone for that. — Nick Friar … CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL REVIEW

WHAT’S THE FURTHEST PLACE FROM HERE? #1
IMAGE COMICS
STORYTELLERS: TYLER BOSS & MATTHEW ROSENBERG
LETTERING: HASSAN OTSMANE-ELHAOU
What’s The Furthest Place From Here? #1 is a lot. In terms of the page count and when you look at what happens in the issue. It should go without saying, but electing to churn out a triple-sized issue from the jump is a bold move. Not something I’d like to see with the series consistently, but it worked. — Nick Friar … CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL REVIEW

Out #2
AWA/Upshot Studios
WRITTEN BY: ROB WILLIAMS
ART BY: WILL CONRAD
After starting the series of slowly — despite the intense ending — Out #2 is a big step in the right direction. While there are a few more viscous moments that’ll stick with you, thanks to Will Conrad’s captivating art, the success of this issue is there’s more purpose with each panel.
