Sources at LRM claim Hayden Christensen is in talks to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker in the upcoming ‘Kenobi’ series for Disney+. It seems after the massive success of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ and the growing appreciation for the prequel trilogy directed by George Lucas could have influenced these decisions by producers. The capacity of the role is unknown. It’s believed that this will be announced at Star Wars Celebration along with Rosario Dawson being cast as Ahsoka Tano.
The upcoming Disney+ series ‘Kenobi’ is currently scheduled to begin production in early 2021. Ewan McGregor will return to reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Deborah Chow will be the showrunner for the series. I have wishful thinking that if this goes through, perhaps we could be seeing Natalie Portman back as Padme Amidala in flashback scenes with Hayden Christensens Anakin Skywalker. Hayden Christensen recently returned to the role in ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” as one of the voices Rey hears when she calls upon the past jedi to help her.
