Today, El Mayimbe (Who has since left Latino-Review) has dropped a new rumor on the possible title for Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man reboot. Many thought that the new film could possibly be called The Spectacular Spider-Man but according to his sources the title might also be Marvel’s Spider-Man: The New Avenger. This of course would give the general audience a clue that this Spider-Man is firmly within the ever growing Marvel Cinematic Universe and not connected to The Amazing Spider-Man films.This has yet to be confirmed and should be taken as a rumor as now.
Currently casting is underway for the role of Peter Parker who is expected to appear in Captain America: Civil War in a minor role. With filming on the next Captain America film beginning tomorrow news on casting should be announced very soon. Marvel is looking at young actors who could play the character for the next decade and not just on film but even on TV if Marvel wanted to. Daredevil and Sinister Six writer Drew Goddard is still in the running to write and direct the solo Spider-Man film.
