The RWBY Animation team took to the stage this weekend at Rooster Teeth’s Annual convention, RTX Austin, to announce the long awaited RWBY Volume 6 release date. Coming October 27th, fans got a sneak peek into what has been going on in the lives of our titular heroins with an exclusive character short featuring Adam Taurus. The short is set to make it’s public release in two weeks. So for those who were unable to make it to the convention this year, don’t worry folks, it’s coming!
During this weekend’s festivities, the team also announced several new projects in the world, basically solidifying RWBY’s takeover of the world, but I’m totally cool with that.
Among those announcements were:
- Rooster Teeth revealed a RWBY YA book series with Scholastic: written by E.C. Myers (Fair Coin, The Silence of Six), RWBY: After the Fall will tell the story of Team CFVY after the Battle of Beacon.
- RTX attendees were the first to see the new RWBY McFarlane Statue, standing 12” high by 15.4” wide by 12.9” deep, available exclusively online at the Rooster Teeth Store this holiday.
- Jazwares revealed a series of hot new collectibles in their popular RWBY line, all items are due out this Fall.
- Bioworld, in partnership with Jazwares, revealed a brand new line of RWBY apparel coming soon to Hot Topic, FYE, Game Stop, and (for the first time) Forever 21.
- Harmonix revealed that Jeff Williams’ smash-hit RWBY song “This Will Be The Day” is now available on Rock Band – for free. This will be the first of three RWBY songs to be added.
- FYE is at it once again – this time they brought Dust Crystals candy to RTX! Available exclusively at FYE, this candy is sure to help fledgling Huntresses and Hunters get combat ready. Attendees also got the return of their Pumpkin Pete’s cereal and shirts at the FYE booth. A few RWBY panel attendees were lucky to snag an early sample!
- Calendar Club were excited to reveal their new RWBY 2019 calendar. A few lucky attendees at the RWBY panel brought home an early release of the calendar!
Similar to the previous Volume premieres, the RWBY Volume 6 premiere will debut for a special one-night-only theatrical run on October 25th, courtesy of Fathom Events.
