‘Silver and Black’ Coming February 2019; Shoots This Winter and MCU Adjacent?

Aug 12, 2017

Sony has officially given Silver and Black a release date on February 8th, 2019.

The Spider-Man spinoff will focus on female characters Silver Sable and Black Cat, which will be directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood.

Rumors have been swirling that the film could also include villains such as The Scorpion, Tarantula, Tombstone, Chameleon, and even Kraven.

One character mentioned in the rumors (via SplashNews) includes Dominic Fortune, and if he’s indeed in the film it would suggest an MCU adjacent connection. As Fortune was a confirmed character in the ABC pilot Marvel’s Most Wanted, making him a character controlled by Marvel, not Sony.

Casting for the film will likely be the next phase of the process as Venom is also currently looking to filling out roles.

So, with the February release date for the film, this potentially suggests a winter (December-February) production start for the spinoff. Omega Underground will keep you posted on dates and locations for the film.

It’ll be interesting to see if the film will have any crossover elements with Venom.
