‘Skyfall’ and ‘Spectre’ Composer Thomas Newman Expected To Return For ‘Bond 25’

Sep 15, 2017

It’s been slightly quiet on the Bond front after it was announced that Daniel Craig would return for his final outing as 007 in the untitled Bond 25.

We still haven’t learned officially who will direct the film or who will distribute it. Although, it was revealed that directors Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Sicario, Blade Runner 2049), David Mackenzie (Hell or High Water, Outlaw King), and Yann Demange (White Boy Rick, ’71) were reportedly in the mix.

My fingers are crossed that Villeneuve will land the gig.

Now, Omega Underground has spotted a production listing for the film that isn’t giving us much to work with concerning director or synopsis. But has composer Thomas Newman (American Beauty, Bridge of Spies, Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile) listed as returning.

Since Newman scored Skyfall and Spectre it isn’t too shocking that producers want him back with or without Sam Mendes.

We don’t really know when or where the film will shoot but it was said producers were scouting Zagreb or Dubrovnik, Croatia. Dubrovnik was the shooting location used for the casino city Canto Bright in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Croatia was also used for a recent Heineken Bond commerical.

Bond 25 is set for release on November 8th, 2019.
