Sony Developing ‘Silk’ Spinoff Film
Producer Amy Pascal and Sony are in development on another Spider-Man spinoff film and this one could have a more tangible connection to Spider-Man: Homecoming.
According to multiple reports from Deadline, Variety and others Korean-American superheroine Cindy Moon aka Silk is going to get her own standalone film.
Silk was created by writer Dan Slott and artist Humberto Ramos. She is also a student at the same high school as Peter Parker and she is also bitten by a radioactive spider on the same day as Peter. She has many of Peter’s abilities, but she can shoot webbing organically, has an eidetic memory and her spider sense is more advanced than Peter’s.
Details of the film are being kept under wraps, but the character of Cindy Moon has appeared on-screen. She was shown as a member of the Academic decathlon team in Spider-Man: Homecoming played by Tiffany Espensen and also appeared on the bus carrying Peter and his schoolmates in Avengers: Infinity War.
