Sony Sets Two Marvel Movies For 2020

Nov 26, 2018

Sony has claimed July 10, 2020 and October 2, 2020 for two upcoming Marvel movies.

Daniel Espinosa is set to direct the ‘Venom’ follow-up movie focusing on Morbius The Living Vampire. The film will star Jared Leto and production is set to begin this February in Atlanta and London. It is likely to take the July slot.

Now that ‘Venom’ has raked in over $800 million at the world wide box office, it is safe to guess that the sequel will take the October release date. Avi Arad has confirmed that Carnage will be the villain and the film will hold a PG-13 rating. Ruben Fleischer is unlikely to return to direct as he will be busy with ‘Zombieland 2’ until January 2020. No formal announcements have been made yet, though, and likely won’t until after the holiday season.

Sony also has ‘Spider-Man: Into The Spider-verse’ this December and ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ this July. They are also developing films based on characters Silver Sable, Black Cat, Jackpot, Silk, Kraven The Hunter, and Nightwatch.
