Sony’s ‘Venom’ Movie Looking To Shoot In New York and Atlanta This Fall

Apr 18, 2017

Omega Underground has spotted another production update concerning Sony’s Spider-Man spinoff film focusing on anti-hero and sometimes villain Venom. We previously learned that the studio was eyeing a fall production start fitting with its release date of October 5th, 2018.

The new information states that the film will be shooting in Atlanta and New York. This isn’t terribly shocking as Spider-Man: Homecoming also shot in the same locations.

We still haven’t learned which version of Venom we’ll be seeing and while a rumor suggests an R-rating Sony hasn’t confirmed this is their intention. Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner are writing the script as the project is without an official director.

Another rumor from Splash Report suggests that Dredd producer Adi Shankar is on the shortlist, he produced the bootleg Venom short Truth In Journalism which was directed by Joe Lynch.

The Silver Sable/Black Cat spinoff is also expected to shoot his fall.

We’re likely to hear more about these projects soon.
