‘Stargirl’ Adds Cameron Gellman to Cast as a Series Regular

Feb 22, 2019

Cameron Gellman has joined the ensemble for ‘Stargirl,’ the upcoming series on DC Universe. Gellman will be a series regular, but his role is undisclosed, other than being a DC character.

Gellman was recently in the Paramount Network series ‘Heathers,’ a remake of the movie of the same name. Roles in other shows include ‘The Fosters’ and ‘The Middle.’ He will next be seen in the ‘Bad Boys’ television spin-off ‘L.A.’s Finest,’ premiering May 13.

Our own Thomas Polito gave some insight of Gellman’s casting:

“Pretty sure he’s playing Courtney’s love interest. Character breakdown was under the name “Max Keener” but there’s a good chance that turns out to be comic character Josh Hamman. We’ll see.”

Moreover, the premise of the series:

“Stargirl follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new drama reimagines the very first superhero team in comics, the Justice Society of America, in an unpredictable series.”

Further, the series is based on the DC character created by Geoff Johns. Also, Johns is writing the first episode and will serve as showrunner.

There is no precise premiere date yet. However, the plan is for the show to begin airing this August.
