‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 Will Consist of Eight Episodes, Will Likely Miss 2020 Release

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

That’s the Duffer Brothers’ philosophy when it comes to ‘Stranger Things’ and its episode count. Two of the previous three seasons had eight episodes in total, and that’s the episode count they’ll be staying with for the upcoming fourth season. It is unknown if this will be the final season.

The new season will begin shooting in January of 2020 and end in August, likely ruling out a 2020 release date. The Duffer Brothers have hinted that this season will branch out beyond the series’ home of Hawkins, Indiana. Matt Duffer was quoted saying, “[I]t’s going to open up a little bit[…]in terms of allowing plotlines into areas outside of Hawkins.”

‘Stranger Things’ is one of Netflix’s most famous and successful properties, with the July 4th premiere of the third season boasting 26.4 million viewers.
