After a whole season of “hints” and teases of the character, from a glimpse of a boot, to mere instant messages, I think it was safe to say where there was a moment where we were probably never going to see Superman truly appear on Supergirl. Image-5-Superman-and-Supergirl

Well, in a move that came completely out of left field, it appears Superman is officially making his way to the series in Season 2.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg released an official statement on the subject, “Greg, Ali and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of ‘Supergirl. Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!”

The series previously feature a younger version of Kal-El, played by Daniel DiMaggio, in a dream sequence.

Question is now, who will don the red cape? Many voices throughout twitter are sharing their support for Smallville’s Tom Welling to reprise the role.

What are your thoughts on Superman making his debut on the Supergirl series? Does this also open doors for him to be featured in a potential crossover with other CW DC shows?
