Taika Waititi’s ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’: Christian Bale in Talks to Join Cast

Jan 6, 2020

The highly anticipated sequel ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ now has Christian Bale in talks to join the cast. The role is unknown, but there is a possibility the character is Dario Agger, from the ‘Mighty Thor’ comics that the film is adapting.

Bale was recently in ‘Ford v Ferrari,’ from director James Mangold. He is best known for portraying Batman in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight’ trilogy. Other popular credits include Mary Harron’s ‘American Psycho,’ David O. Russell’s ‘The Fighter,’ and Adam McKay’s ‘The Big Short.’

Taika Waititi (‘Thor: Ragnarok,’ ‘Jojo Rabbit’) will return to direct, and this time he wrote the screenplay.

Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), and Natalie Portman (Jane Foster) will all reprise their roles for this fourth outing. Waititi will also lend his voice once again for the role of fan-favorite Korg.

Based on how ‘Avengers: Endgame’ ended, spoiler alert, Thor becomes a part of the Guardians of the Galaxy. So, it would make sense Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, and Vin Diesel join Chris Hemsworth in this fo(u)rthcoming sequel.

Meanwhile, last July, we at the GWW got word that Marvel Studios is casting a transwoman actress for an upcoming project. With casting now ramping up for ‘Thor: Love and Thunder,’ perhaps we will soon find out who will play this role, as well as the character itself (which we think is Sera).

Further, filming will begin this August in Sydney, Australia.

Marvel Studios will release the film on November 5, 2021.
