Elizabeth Tulloch Cast As Lois Lane for CW Crossover

Sep 14, 2018

The CW has found its Lois Lane for the annual Arrowverse crossover!

‘Grimm’ star Elizabeth Tulloch has been cast as the Daily Planet’s best reporter in the upcoming Arrowverse crossover on the CW. She will be joining Tyler Hoechlin and Melissa Benoist, who play Clark Kent and Kara Danvers, respectively. It is unknown how many of the three episodes she will be in, but Hoechlin is confirmed for all three.

The crossover will begin on Monday, Dec 9 with ‘The Flash’, followed by ‘Arrow’ on Dec 10, and ‘Supergirl’ on Dec 11. It is said to focus on Gotham City and the introduction of Ruby Rose’s Batwoman, who will spin off into her own show sometime in 2019.

Tulloch starred in ‘Grimm’ as the female lead for six seasons, as well as starring opposite Will Smith in 2015’s ‘Concussion’, had a guest role in the political drama ‘West Wing’, and the critically acclaimed medical series ‘House.’

Lois Lane has appeared in a lot of animated and live action shows and movies, almost always played by someone new. Margot Kidder is probably the most beloved of all those who have played Lane, starring opposite Christopher Reeve in the original four Superman films. She passed away on May 13, 2018. Lane was most recently played by Amy Adams, who starred as the character in Zack Snyder’s three Superman movies: ‘Man of Steel’, ‘Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice’, and ‘Justice League.’

When casting was beginning for the character, ‘Supergirl’ producers Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner released a statement saying:

We couldn’t be more excited to introduce Lois Lane to the Arrowverse. This dogged, determined and brave reporter will make for a strong partner to Superman and amazing addition to our universe of DC characters.

No ‘Superman’ shows have been discussed, but with the recent re-development of ‘Metropolis’ on DC Universe, it would be cool to see a full fledged Superman series since there are currently no plans for him on the movie side.
