The Vertigo comic book adaptation from Warner Bros. ‘The Kitchen’ has moved up to August 9. The film departs from the original September 20 date, showing confidence from the studio.

Moreover, Andrea Berloff is making her directorial debut, from her own screenplay. She is famous for contributing to the story and screenplay of 2015’s ‘Straight Outta Compton.’ That film got a nomination for Best Original Screenplay at the Academy Awards.

The film has a female trio at the forefront, with Elisabeth Moss, Melissa McCarthy and Tiffany Haddish. Also, the rest of the cast includes Domhnall Gleeson, Margo Martindale, Bill Camp and Brian d’Arcy James.

Further, ‘The Kitchen’ will now compete against Disney’s ‘Artemis Fowl,’ A24’s ‘Midsommar,’ and United Artists Releasing’s ‘Where’d You Go Bernadette.’
