Mar 19, 2018

Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Disney will be remaking their classic animated film Lady and the Tramp as a “live-action/CGI hybrid” feature. This will be in the vein of next years Lion King “live-action” remake for the company which will use CGI talking animals. However, Lady and the Tramp will actually be debuting on Disney’s streaming service in 2019.

The report goes onto reveal that The LEGO Ninjago director Charlie Bean has been tapped to direct the project. The Jungle Book producer Brigham Taylor has also boarded the project. With Andrew Bujalski writing the script.

Tramp, released in 1955, told the love story between a pampered Cocker Spaniel named Lady and a streetwise mongrel named Tramp. Lady finds herself out on the street after her owners have a baby and is saved from a pack by Tramp, who tries to show her to live her life footloose and collar-free. More doggone adventures ensue.

Lady and the Tramp will debut exclusively on Disney’s streaming service
