The New Teen Titans Statues From DC Collectibles (Entire Set) Review

Dec 31, 2018

One collection I sought out and knew I needed was DC Collectibles statue recreation of the 1980 release of The New Teen Titans #1 by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez. Each of the seven are sold separately and as you can see, we have Robin, Beast Boy, Kid Flash, Cyborg, Starfire, Raven, and Wonder Girl. By themselves, they still look great but it’s seeing them all together like this that really makes it all worth it.  The molds are done extremely well making them really looking like that they popped right out of the cover.  Major points on how they have Beast Boy made with him changing into a tiger. I love that they also use Starfire’s hair as a stand for her as well as Raven’s smoke to give her a levitating state.

Wonder Girl is held up with a pole but there’s not a lot you can do to get around that but it’s very minimal and you will hardly notice it. Her lasso is made of thin metal and you need to be very careful not to bend it too much. As I re-positioned it a bit, I had to hope it was not going to break. Kid Flash really stood out for me too for as simple as his looks, the yellow and red colors from his costume along with a great looking head. Any Flash fan is going to enjoy this one because you can see how ready he looks for a mission. For Robin, I think the best features on him are his cape and his legs. The molded cape has some great waves and I love the muscle tone on his legs. Cyborg in his classic outfit is great to see in a statue and the blast coming out of his arm looks like some real nice effort was put into it. One knock I had was when I was putting them all together, Raven’s cloak would touch Starfire’s feet so I ended up pulling Raven back just slightly and you can’t tell if you’re looking at the group directly from the front but this did bother me a bit. The polyresin material feels really nice and the paint job is done so well.  Each one looks like a lot of care went into them to recreate this cover.  Even if you don’t want to collect all of them, any single one of them is worth having.  However, as we all know with this team. Nothing is better than seeing them as Titans Together.
