‘Titans’: Alan Ritchson Confirms Season 3 Return For Hawk & Dove, Spin-Off Talks

Nov 14, 2019

Hawk and Dove are back, bitches!-Jason Todd, probably.

In an interview with Collider, the ‘Titans’ confirmed he and Minka Kelly will return as the vigilante duo Hawk and Dove for the third season of the DC Universe series.

“As we go into season 2, 3, and onward, we’re just a part of the group.”

Ritchson also noted that, back when they were first cast, a spin-off was being pursued if audiences responded well to their characters.

“We had an interesting deal going into that where it was this dual ‘We’ll put you on Titans for a little bit and just see how those characters go. If it goes well here’s another deal for your own show; we want to do a Hawk and Dove thing, but we’ve got to figure out this platform first.”

The ‘Smallville’ alum also discussed how Geoff Johns convinced him to portray a second DC character.

“I wanted to go back to TV. They pitched me on that show and I was like, ‘I don’t know man, I did this; didn’t I do this on The CW? Didn’t I start this way as a DC character,’ and Geoff Johns called me and he pitched me the show; he’s like, ‘It’s so different than that, I promise. It’s going to look amazing and very dark and gritty. You’re like this pill popping vigilante, like addiction, and it’s really gritty.’ I was like ‘That actually sounds pretty good.’ They lived up to every promise they made, creatively speaking. It was really what they said it was going to be. It’s been a blast, I love the show. I love being a part of it.”

‘Titans’ hails from Geoff Johns, Greg Walker, Greg Berlanti, and Sara Schechter. The series stars Brenton Thwaites, Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, and Ryan Potter. Season 3 will bow out in fall 2020.
