UPDATE: ‘Top Gun 2’ Start Possibly Delayed Until October and Will Shoot Scenes In Virginia

Sep 18, 2018

Despite talk of a September start for Tom Cruise’s Top Gun 2: Maverick, Omega Underground has learned the sequel’s production start is now expected to be delayed until October (if not longer) and its unknown the reasoning behind the hiccup.

Filming will take place in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Jordan. Their is now word that some scenes will also be shot in Norfolk, Virginia.

The film’s supporting cast consists of Jennifer Connelly, Miles Teller, Val Kilmer, Jon Hamm, Ed Harris, and Glen Powell.

We also previously reported that Maverick’s crew will include cinematographer Claudio Miranda (Only The Brave, Life of Pi, Tron: Legacy, Benjamin Button) and production designer Jeremy Hindle (Detroit, Zero Dark Thirty).

Delays were somewhat expected after Paramount recently pushed the release date an entire year from next July to June 26th, 2020.
