Vincent D’Onofrio Returning for ‘Daredevil as The Kingpin’ Season 3; New Showrunner Announced

Today, Deadline announced that fan-favorite villain Kingpin is going to return in Daredevil season 3 played by Vincent D’Onofrio. Wilson Fisk made a surprise appearance in last year’s Daredevil season 2 towards the back half of the season. And with a promised rematch between Fisk and Frank Castle was promised for the future. So seeing D’Onofrio return was inevitable in one way or another.

Jeph Loeb added:

“Vincent is an exceptional actor who returns with the incredible gravitas he brings to Fisk. We’re very excited how Marvel’s Daredevil develops through the creative lens and guidance of our new showrunner, Erik Oleson.”

The report also announced that former Arrow showrunner Erik Oleson will be taking over as showrunner of season 3. This comes off of Marco Ramirez & Doug Petrie were hired for season 2 and the first season of The Defenders. It’s unknown the reason the two were removed from the project.

Daredevil will debut exclusively on Netflix in 2018
