Warner Bros Cooking Up ‘The Accountant’ Sequel; Affleck In Talks To Return

Jun 27, 2017

There are some great films out there that you don’t think you’ll ever see a sequel to. One of those was 2016’s The Accountant, which starred Ben Affleck as Christian Wolff, a high functioning autistic forensic accountant with a violent side who un-cooks the books for big time criminals.

Now according to Deadline, Warner Bros are in talks with Ben Affleck (Argo, Batman V Superman) to return for a sequel. With both the original director Gavin O’Connor and screenwriter Bill Dubuque also in talks to return.

The Accountant made $155 million at the worldwide box office on a budget of $44 million. A small win for the studio, who may be looking to the franchise as their version of John Wick, another film that never set the box office alight during its original run.

The film also starred John Bernthal as Affleck’s brother Brax, a skilled killer just like Christian. Perhaps for the sequel, the two can team up for a job and work out their daddy issues.
