WB’s ‘Birds of Prey’ Movie Could Shoot In LA and Atlanta Early Next Year

Jul 6, 2018

Warner Bros. is seemingly going all in with their DC Comics standalone films and we have a slight update concerning the progress being made on their Harley Quinn/Birds of Prey movie that has director Cathy Yan attached and script from Christina Hodson.

Omega Underground has word that the studio is possibly eyeing locations for the film which include Atlanta/Savannah, Georgia and Los Angeles, California.

Our friends at DiscussingFilm have also learned that the DC Comics film could begin filming as early as January of next year.

UPDATE: It looks like HeroicHollywood originally reported the January start date and now FlickeringMyth has word from Margot Robbie herself during their interview that the film will start in January. Adding that it will have a smaller budget and will aim for an R-rating.

We’ll keep you posted once production dates are revealed.

The character lineup is said to be Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Batgirl, Canary, and Huntress. There was also some trade chatter that Batman villain Penguin was being eyed for the film as well but could also be used in Matt Reeve’s Batman movie.

Warner Bros. has yet to give the film a release date.
