‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ Production Heading To NYC and Halston Sage Confirmed?

Aug 15, 2017

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is well into its production in Montreal, Quebec.

Now, Omega Underground has spotted Teen Spirit (working title of Dark Phoenix) on a listing of feature films expected to shoot in New York City, New York. The film is also in the company of Avengers 4 which is also on the list as Mary Lou (it’s working title), we’ve been hearing for weeks Marvel has been casting for a New York sequence.

Not to be confused with the Elle Fanning musical Teen Spirit which is shooting primarily in the UK, as the film’s main setting is the Isle of Wight.

This isn’t terribly surprising due to behind the scenes images of NYC mock-up sets for both Central Park and the United Nations building in Montreal have been spotted by fans.

However, this is the first hint that production would be taking place outside of Montreal. Nothing currently suggests that we’ll see cast members on the streets of NYC but we can’t rule it out either.

Could the kids be heading to the big city for a concert?

Omega Underground is also now learning towards The Orville’s Halston Sage potentially landing the pop-star mutant role of Dazzler (Alison Blaire).

Two names we’ve been hearing (also teasing on Twitter) for the part has been Sage and Suki Waterhouse.

Something to help back us up is that Sage was spotted recently with the Dark Phoenix cast members in Montreal for a Hans Zimmer concert which included her Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse co-star Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, and Nicholas Hoult.

Even bigger is that an X-Men stuntman has posted a story on Instagram of himself behind the scenes with a board of cast members (possibly in the costume/hair department). The board clearly includes headshots of Jessica Chastain and Halston Sage.

Halston recently wrapped production on her Fox TV sci-fi comedy series The Orville.

Nothing has been made official concerning the Dazzler role but this adds up to Sage landing a part in the sequel.

Franchise returners include Sophie Turner, James McAvoy, Tye Sheridan, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Alexandra Shipp, Nicholas Hoult, and Kodi Scott-McPhee.

Jessica Chastain has teased her confirmation as the film’s villain Empress Lilandra, but the studio has yet to make it official.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is set for release on November 2nd, 2018.
