‘Y: The Last Man’: Ben Schnetzer Set to Play Yorick Brown, Replacing Barry Keoghan

Feb 28, 2020

After weeks of silence, it has been revealed that Ben Schnetzer will be playing Yorick Brown in FX’s upcoming ‘Y: The Last Man’ series. His credits include ‘Pride,’ ‘Warcraft,’ and ‘Snowden.’

Schnetzer isn’t the first person to have been cast as Yorick in the series. Barry Keoghan (‘The Killing of a Sacred Deer,’ ‘Dunkirk’) was set to play the character, but he, unfortunately, exited the show a few weeks ago.

The other cast members include Diane Lane (‘Man Of Steel,’ ‘Inside Out’), Imogen Poots (‘Green Room,’ ’28 Weeks Later’), Amber Tamblyn (‘Joan Of Arcadia,’ ‘Two and a Half Men’), and Timothy Hutton (‘Ordinary People,’ ‘Leverage’).

‘Y: The Last Man’ takes place in a post-apocalyptic world in which a cataclysmic event has killed every male mammal save for one lone human and his capuchin monkey. The new world order of women will explore gender, race, class, and survival.

Eliza Clark (‘Animal Kingdom,’ ‘Extant’) serves as the new showrunner of the series. She replaced Aida Mashaka Croal and Michael Green, the previous showrunners. Melina Matsoukas (‘Insecure,’ ‘Queen & Slim’) is still onboard to direct the new pilot.

We at the GWW can confirm filming will begin April 6th and wrap August 18th in Toronto, Canada.

The series is aiming to premiere later this year.
