ZAPPCON Returns to Fresno California on October 17-18 and Geeks With Wives wants to share all the amazing things this convention is bringing to the Central Valley. Last Year ZAPPCON was a huge success and last and this years convention is again shaping up to be really something special.

ZAPPCON is for the seekers, the geeks, and the fanatics to come together and celebrate all the things that matter to them in comics, games, toys and movies. ZAPPCON is a place where everyone is free to love the things that excite them, to explore new passions and connect with one another.

There are a ton of reasons we all go to cons weather its to display our newest cosplay creation, purchase some one of the kind art or attend an awesome panel hosted by one of your favorite creators. But one thing that always brings in the crowds is the amazing special guests. ZAPPCON in is no exception and will have so talented and geeky celebrities in attendance.

Gigi Edelyguest_edgley
Edgley has recently completed shooting Hashtag a short SyFy film. Her team were successful in raising over $44000 with a Kickstarter in order to fund the production.
Previously she was filming Whisky Sour which was also produced in Los Angeles.As host of Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge Gigi Edgley was charged with introducing each week’s challenge to the group of contestants. The internationally renowned actress is originally from Australia. Gigi has a long and rich history with The Jim Henson Company beginning with her popular role as Chiana on the company’s critically – acclaimed sci-fi cult series,Farscape. In which she starred for over four years.Gigi stole the hearts of sci-fi enthusiasts. She was originally cast as a guest star for one episode, but quickly captured the attention of theFarscapewriters, producers and the fans alike. The mischievous Chiana became one of the most popular, and at times controversial characters in the series.

Andrea Libman has worked as a voice over actor for more than twenty years. She has had roles on numerous animated TV series, including Madeline in Madeline and The New Adventures of Madeline, Emmy in DragonTales, young AndrAIa in Reboot, and Cathy in Monster Buster Club. Recently, she’s played Cylindria on Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, and Lemon Meringue, Pupcake and Princess Berrykin in Strawberry Shortcake’s Berry Bitty Adventures. Andrea recently won the Union of BC Performers Award for Best Voice for her portrayal of Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

Andrea teaches and plays the piano and enjoys running, skiing and snowboarding, yoga and volunteer work.  She holds her Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of British Columbia.

The Doubleclicks are two sisters who sing sincerely about the things geeks love: dinosaurs, super-villains, Dungeons & Dragons, and more. The duo has gained renown for their youtube videos including the geek girl song “Nothing to Prove,” for appearing on Wil Wheaton’s web show Tabletop, and for writing the theme song for Cards Against Humanity. The Doubleclicks have toured conventions, bars and clubs across the US and Canada including at w00tstock, Comicon and JoCoCruiseCrazy. Their 2013 album “Lasers and Feelings” hit the top 10 on Billboard’s comedy charts. Their 2014 album “Dimetrodon” features songs about burritos and cats and was funded by an $80,000 Kickstarter project. Doubleclicks concerts are perfect for fans of cellos or the 1995 BBC Pride and Prejudice mini-series.

RK Post

A farmboy from Illinois with a gift for sketching, RK Post was planning on a career as a veterinarian until illustration finally took over in his college experience. By 1994, RK Post was RKpostfreelancing for the fantasy gaming industry doing interior illustration for several major game companies, gradually teaching himself how to paint with acrylics and oils. RK garnered a staff illustration position at TSR and after its acquisition, continued in this capacity with new parent company Wizards of the Coast painting cover illustrations for games and novels. Passionate about expanding his skill set, RK moved into 2D and 3D art for video games in addition to his ongoing freelance illustrations for Magic the Gathering and other franchises.

RK’s freelance career has encompassed a lot over the years, with clients including White Wolf, WizKids, Fanpro, Microsoft (Mythica, X Box), LucasFilm, 20th Century Fox (both Aliens VS Predator), Sega (Dreamcast), Nintendo, Ballantine Books, Science Fiction Book Club, Hasbro (television and animation), Marvel Entertainment, DC Comics, Dark Horse Comics, the History Channel, and Blizzard Entertainment (Diablo 2, World of Warcraft) and SOE (The Agency). RK Post published his first volume of collected works in the hard cover release, Postmortem: the Art of RK Post. Though this first edition has sold out, it still appears on amazon.com as one of the more valuable fantasy art books in trade.
