Today, Deadline announced that Big Little Lies and X-Men: First Class star Zoe Kravtiz has been cast as Selina Kyle in Matt Reeve’s upcoming film The Batman. This comes off news that the director was looking for a woman of color to take up the mantle of Catwoman in this iteration. Kravtiz also voiced Catwoman in 2017’s The LEGO Batman Movie.

The last time Selina Kyle was on screen was played by Anne Hathaway in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. Kravtiz joins Robert Pattinson who takes up the mantle of Bruce Wayne. With Jeffery Wright (Westworld) cast to play Commissioner Gordon and Jonah Hill up for either The Riddler or The Penguin.

The Batman hits theaters June 25, 2021
