Updated Review: EWin Gaming Chair

Oct 22, 2018

It’s been a exactly two months since I received EWin’s gaming chair and my opinion of it hasn’t really changed. That’s a good thing, because I absolutely loved it when it was brand new. Surprisingly, it hasn’t aged much at all. I feared the leather would wrinkle or rip or the wheels would squeak or snap off. I’m not particularly harsh on my chairs but my kids love to jump on the chair and race it around the small space in my office. So you can see why I thought the chair wouldn’t hold up. If you’re looking for a cheap gaming chair, this may be your best option.

The Seat

How clearly can I express this sentiment in writing: there isn’t a scratch or scuff on the seat! And it’s still as comfortable as before. I have had to clean it from time to time. Mostly due to my kids climbing on it while eating cheese or crackers. It isn’t difficult to clean it. A simple baby wipe has done the trick nicely.

The Pads

Here I am referring to the neck and lumbar (lower back) cushions. The neck cushion is still soft and easily adjustable. The elastic band that connects this cushion to the seat-back has been pulled hard, several times by my kids. Yet, it has sustained no noticeable damage and the positioning is perfect for my upper back / neck.

I’ve had back pain since I was 21 years old (kids, don’t do squats – too risky!). Needless to say, I really need solid lumbar support in any chair I use for an extended period. Such as a work / gaming chair or even the driver’s seat of my car. I’m happy to report the lumbar pad of this EWin chair is still very firm and support my back quite well.

The Wheels

My biggest concern was actually the wheels. I don’t use one of those fancy plastic pads under my desk and chair. These wheels have to roll around through the thick of the carpet in my office with my weight on it. There’s also the unintended use from my kids one of them loads up while the other pushes. It’s not terribly violent and, fortunately, nobody has been injured. But certainty this chair wasn’t built for this type of activity. Yet, it rolls on.

Updated Verdict

This EWin chair retails for $359 and is a wonderful gaming office chair. That’s absolutely worth it for me. Sitting down for more than 30 minutes at a time really isn’t healthy. So if you’re going to do it, do it as comfortably as possible. You’re going to need support and EWin has you covered. I rotate between standing and sitting for most of the day. When I sit, it’s actually hard for me to respond to my timer and stand up. I love this chair!
