There’s something wonderful about the Golden Age of Pulp Comics. A dashing hero, his naive sidekick and campy teammates are the essential cast in The Baboon, a love letter to the classics. The Baboon brings up nostalgic feelings of the 40s and 50s characters and villainous plots, matched with a striking color palette. In an… Continue reading Bringing Back The Pulp with ‘The Baboon’ Creator Jamie Jones

Born in Boston MA, raised in NH. Fully functioning adult who happens to read any and every comic under the (yellow)sun. Of course there are the favorite comics I must read when they're released, but any comic is fair game in my eyes. Of course my love for pop culture doesn't end with comics, but branches out to movies, toys, video games and most importantly Dungeons and Dragons (which I withheld this last hobby from my Fiancée until she said "Yes").
Point of Origin for my nerdy condition may have been in '93 when I got slimed at Nickelodeon(now closed), and a teenage accident or two(collapsed lungs) landing me in the hospital around the same time the Tobey Maguire Spiderman movies started coming out. When my dad stopped at the local comic store and brought me the essential comics for Spiderman and the X-Men, I stood no chance. (Which also created a secret aspiration to start a fundraiser of sorts to bring comic books to kids in hospitals to keep their spirits up(nothing has come of this to date)) Add in a heavy dose of trip to Disney World, upcoming Disney themed wedding and a career aspiration to become a Disney Imagineer, I think it's safe to say I never want to grow up.

Legends of the Hidden Temple (D&D Adventure)
Over the past few months, I have really enjoyed tapping into my creative writing mind and sharing my Dungeons and Dragons adventures to the communities of DMs Guild. With Wizard of the Coasts more recent adventure, Tomb of Annihilation, I was immediately inspired to write what I titled my dissertation as a Dungeon Master. I… Continue reading Legends of the Hidden Temple (D&D Adventure)
Evolution! The Video Game
Board Games might be one of my biggest hobbies. Trying to get friends and family into this past time can be challenging. But every once in a while, a game comes along that everyone can understand. I tried out Evolution: The Beginning recently with my wife who enjoys the classics; Monopoly and Life. Even with… Continue reading Evolution! The Video Game
The Whisper #4 Review
The Whisper #4 Patreon Comic By: Ryan Williams and Jamie Jones The words gritty and comic, bring about the notion in my head of a Frank Miller-esque world. One where trash fills the streets and for some reason, it is always raining. The grim faces of characters showing tiredness and stress of this world. Colors… Continue reading The Whisper #4 Review
Hirst Arts Fantasy Architecture: Castle Molds Interview – Gen Con
During Gen Con, the greatest 4 days in gaming, there was a lot of time to roam the exhibit hall and see all the great new games that are out there to play. Like always, the big attention drawing tables were the miniature figure games. And the amazing scenes that really catch the passer-by’s eye… Continue reading Hirst Arts Fantasy Architecture: Castle Molds Interview – Gen Con
Poop: The Game! – A GenCon Interview
Much like everyone who enthusiastically enjoys card games and board games, the more ambitious of the lot eventually ends up trying to create their own games, and that is what game designer Blaise Sewell did in grade school. It was perfect for rainy days, indoor recess days when bored. That’s how many game designers I… Continue reading Poop: The Game! – A GenCon Interview
Gen Con 50! Wrap Up
What an amazing gaming experience it was to attend Gen Con 50! The event broke many of its own records including the number of attendees, being just shy of 208,000 attendees throughout “The Greatest 4 Days in Gaming.” From my experience from Thursday through Sunday, it was packed but not to the point of immobility.… Continue reading Gen Con 50!
